Got Tired of waiting for PCGS to put up a lincoln short set, so I am posting my own

I figured if that "they" are not capable of doing it, I would. I used the same weights that "they" use for the coins in the 09-58 set. Have Fun

here

It has all the short sets of all of the visible sets (I wish I could see the hidden sets). I was a little surprised to see that Wayne Herndon is NOT #1

  • Wow I thought Wayne was going to be #1. We should come up with different weights.

  • Here are IMO, the most difficult dates to find in GEM+, in order. 1935-S, 1954, 1949, 1953, 1948, 1947, 1952, 1951, 1955, 1956, 1934-D, 1935-D

I guess either the 35-S or the 54-P would be a 10 weight in this set.

That's what I like about Wayne. He doesn't really compete. He knows that he has 40+ years to finish and does not fill his set with "hole fillers"
  • hey clackamas, you forgot the the toughest coin!!!! 57-p

may the force be with you.

  • Brian- I agree for the most part that the first 11 coins on your list are probably the most difficult (I might juggle the order on a few of them)....but I don't agree with putting the 35-D where you have it. There are still many more dates that are much more difficult than that one. Marc

  • Brian – that’s an interesting list to think about – in addition, in my experience the 1946, 1957 and 1953D have proven to be tough to find in ms67rd.

PCGS weights are set at the most collectable grade - so the toughies in high grade don't always get their due respect.

    Hey Guys

Gerry has the #1 set . He has every issue in ms 67 red and many in ms 68 red.The only dates in 68 red that he doesn't pocess are the ones owned by Wayne herndon.Perhaps Gerry will post his coins.Heck,I've posted my coins and I still am quoted gag prices for a 1958 Lincoln with a pop of 16.
BTW SOG who is the #1 set ?

    Stewart
  • Well doing a little internet stalking you can find the name of the owner (from the listed email address)

I believe it USE to be owned by Wondercoin, but I am not sure.
