I made an impulse Trade Dollar buy; did I get ripped?

Mass here's a pic of one. I guess they were stamps that traders put on the dollars for... something or another.

Excellent website! After I read about the chopmarks, I noticed that they are also mentioned in the redbook. I read that previously but must have forgotten. Thank you for providing that info; it's very helpul - and bookmarked.

The redbook claims that the chopmarked coins are worth less than unmarked dollars; what's more difficult to find, unmarked or chopmarked?

Depends on the date and mintmark. Some coins are tougher to find with chops than without. On my website, I've attempted to price all conditions of the various chopmarks, which should give you an idea of the relative scarcity and demand. PCGS pops are too new to utilize in that regard.

don't know much about chopmarks myself, but it would be interesting to learn about all the different chops, what they stood for, how many diff types, etc...
