reliable autograph authenitication sources??

I was curious if anybody knows what autograph authentication services are respected. I started looking at signed college memorabilia, but the only sources i have personal experience with are psa/dna, steiner, and tri star....and of course those seem to sell for ridiculous sums of money. Essentially it looks as if one's paying for the authenticator because the auto's typically are not worth nearly what the final selling prices are. I've noticed a lot of stuff is popping up with authentication paperwork from GAI and Beckett. I assume that stuff is legit, but am not sure. Finally, there are guys on ebay with great feedback reaching into the thousands, selling lots of autos with little documentation. Can any of them truly be trusted? My assumption is 99.9% of that feedback is predicated upon whether the items arrive or not. I doubt most people would have the interest/ability to have third party authentication accomplished and then leave appropriate feedback within the 90 day time frame. anyone elses thoughts?

  • You can also rely on UDA, WGA & Mounted Memories. I don't know too much about GAI autograph authentication but the GAI Gretzky auto's I've seen don't look nearly as nice as the UDA/WGA.

  • GAI is a respected company. They just recently took over the authenticating from PSA at the Hollywood Park shows.
