1975 Topps Reg Finished

Well I just registered my last card in 1975 Regs and finished at 8.14. The set is 100% 8 or better and is 8.14. I may upgrade an 8 every now and then but for the most part am done. This is my 3rd large set completed and the finish line is just as sweet as the 1st. I need 1 more for my 65 set then will concentrate on the last 20% of my 67 set and start getting serious about the 72 set. Thanks for all who helped especially with the last 20 or so cards.

  • Unbelieveable.

I'm still workin on my 'little' 252 card set of 1950 Bowmans. It pales in comparsion to the sheer size of some of these monster sets!

    Congrats! What's next?

Great job Dave! It's humbling to know you are kicking my @$$ in 1989 Score football when it's not even mentioned on your priority list image.

  • Hey Stump,
I am working on the '75 set as well.
Any idea what you spent on it to complete??
When it comes to that one I am only going to build it by buying graded cards.
Buying raw cards or unopened wax and finding worthy ones to get graded just seems a little out of my price range.
I am doing that when it comes to my 75-76 Topps basketball set and it's very tough to find unopened wax or decent raw cards but the set is only 330 cards so it's half the size of the baseball set.
I am hoping to put it together for about 5k.

Congratulations -- it's quite a set, and I am sure it was quite an effort to get those last cards!

  • GREAT JOB DAVE!

I'll confess I didn't complete the 1975 set the hard way, but I did upgrade it several notches. Congrats on the set! I just finished my 1974 set, so I know a little bit about how hard completing these big sets can be. Good luck on that last 1965 card (the year I began 1st grade).

BTW, I'll have a surprise for you on the 1972 K basic set in a couple of weeks! Stay tuned......

Great job Dave. You're building those babies up in record time. How far back do you plan to go (building sets)? I eventually hope to build all the mainstream 1951-1976 Topps sets in PSA 8+ but that will probably take several lifetimes.
  • John

Will go 52 to 82 in Topps. Not sure about bowman yet. I also like to purchase 10's in the modern years. Need 4 more cards in 89 score football to be 100% 10. I like that set for some reason it appeals to me.

Congratualations, Dave. I was hoping my card would be the last one to get posted in your set, but I'm glad I could supply a couple tough bricks. I hope to join you up there someday.
