how much would you offer for a 1995 W silver eagle pr70( PCGS)????

here is my thought: how much would you offer for the 1995 W silver eagle graded pr70DCAM by PCGS?

tell me how much you think you can spend....and in some days i'll tell you one little thing...

A bazzillion dollars. Then I would send it to PCGS saying it's only a 69 and get my money back

Let's see... a proof eagle goes for $25-50... minus the slab, which looks worse than a mint box... plus the special date that I recognize as rarer... $50.

  • ok, maybe my english is not so good,
let me try to explain in a different way:

    i have a morgan dollar, 1883 S graded ms65 by pcgs

somebody wants to buy it and offers me 3000 $.

pcgs priceguide has it for 30000$ and i decline the offer.

    i have a 1995 W silver eagle in pr70 deep cameo.

price for this range from 3250 $ in pr69dcam to a higher price that i honestly don't know.

would you ever make an offer higher than the pr69 grade?
  • Hey, welcome to the boards! Do you have any pictures of these coins you claim to have?.............
  • I'd do $300 - $400. I don't think too much of the coin and I'm rather annoyed by how it was originally offered.
  • thanks for welcoming me...
    no i don't have pictures...
mine is only an example( coin will arrive at the end of this week!!!!)....just to know what do you think could be worth having a coin like this.

i'm new to collecting coins and i'm trying to understand this world!!!
collecting, investing....you know how is right?

  • Since there is still only one in the populations, I suppose he can ask what ever he wants. I think that coin was offered at one time here on the boards. Don't remember what the price was though. I would have to think at least double or more over the cost of a PR69DCAM? Probably more?

With a mintage of around 35,000? and with other collectors holding on to the complete sets, I don't think you will run into to a lot of PCGS 70's for this date anytime soon. imho

It is certainly a plasic collectors dream. Wasn't that coin on teletrade numerous times, but never met the reserve? I would rather have the original set. At least you would get some coins worth more than $7-$8 in it.

    Gee, I always thought a PCGS PR 69 would run about $2,500 - 2,900, and a PR 70 would be mid 3,000$.

Then again, its not a coin I'd pay a premium for. It'd be nice to have, but not a burning desire to pay that kind of money for. Personnally, I don't think they are worth over $500 - 1,000.

Were I to fall into a pot of money, I'd have no problem giving someone 5K for it. Not much more, tho. I have a 69, and it's just as nice, I have no doubt.

The Collectors to ask are those that would be interested in the Series and place a premium on the "70" grade. I'd imagine, in the right auction setting with the right Collectors in the room your silver Eagle, sight seen, wouldn't have too much difficulty reaching 15K. As with many low pop or top pop coins, there is a very thin buying base and it would need the proper promotion first. Good luck with yours- it's quite a find.
