Who takes the more holistic approach to grading, NGC or PCGS?

Which service, NGC or PCGS, would you say looks more at a coin in its entirety when grading? In other words, which service is more likely to average the weaknesses with the strengths, as opposed to only downgrading for the weaknesses?

Probably both services net grade to some extent, but whose approach makes more sense to you?

It depends on the series and the coin. There are some coins that look fine in an NGC slab and I have no problem with them. Others, however, undoubtedly look far superior when graded by PCGS - example - MS67 and above Morgans. I have yet to see an MS67 Morgan that has the blast that PCGS examples generally have.

Which makes more sense? It depends on what you want from a grading service. Speaking for myself, I want TPG's to grade in a way that best helps me buy coins based on scans. (I can handle myself when buying in person, thank you.) Therefore, I want grading services to grade technically and not give extra points for eye appeal. From that perspective, for most series, PCGS is the better choice.
