It is a type two but holder says it is a type one
Even teletrade put this is a type two coin in the description, someones are still bid this one up. It is a $100 - $200 coin. With a PCGS mistake, it is about $700. According to PCGS price guide, a type one MS66 is $1175 and a type two is $325. Will PCGS pays the difference when the new owner submit the coin back?
If not and if PCGS knows this mistake, will PCGS correct their pop report?
Do you think to pay about $400 to buy the insert to move up registry position is a stupid idea

Hey, they are only human after all and mistakes happen. It's not like its their job to label coins. Oh wait...
BTW, I would not pay $400 for the insert. The next buyer that you try to sell it to may actually look at the coin. So yes, my answer to your rhetorical question "Yes, it is very stupid"
I actually have a PCGS MS65 1976 -P TY 2 labeled as a TY 1. I bought it years ago. I called PCGS and asked about it. They called it a "mechanical error" and offered to reholder it for free! They would not pay anything for the decrease in value. I actually bid $350 on the coin in Teletrade and thought that was "stupid money" for that coin.

If I had it my way, stupidity would be painful!
