Should I grade cards when I sell a set?

As I build my 1969 PSA baseball set, I upgrade a second set which is primarily raw cards. Currently there are about 25 PSA 8's included in the raw set that are doubles of 8's that are in my registry set. By the time I finish my primary set there may be 50 to 75 graded cards in the set.

I finally got a loupe (a Valentine's present from my fantastic wife) and I have determined that there are many 8's in the second set. My question is does it make financial sense to grade them out and sell the complete set with 200 or so 8's?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Yes. Absolutely! I have tried selling raw lots of nice '69 Topps on ebay. They either don't sell or end up selling for well under $1 per card. If you have less than that invested in commons, get them graded and sell a nice partial set of PSA 8s. Even $2000 for 200 PSA 8 commons should net you a profit. I'm sure that you could get that for it. I did.
