I can see why someone would alter a cheap coin, but a 95-S?

Can't see many thinking this is a proof.

I know most altered coins are worth very little. Is this any different?

It grades VF maybe EF. The straight on image makes it look dead but
it's not a bad looking coin.

It's really a shame. Probably would have been worth a few hundred if not messed with.

It wouldn't be hard to add a mintmark and sell the thing for full money. After all, who's gonna check for an added mintmark?
