  • <Insert Drooling Emoticon Here>!!! Frank, that's a beauty in the pictures... I like it... First glance guess from me is MS65... but I'm not sure how harsh Morgan's are graded... I've developed my eye to within a point or two on MS Mercs, but not on other series... looks great in the pictures!!! image

I see nothing that would keep the coin from MS65, maybe shot 66 if it's all there in the luster department.

Rock solid 65. Nice coin Frank.

depends what's going on in that lower left field, pic not very detailed there. Otherwise, I think NGC would slap a 66 on that one.

My initial impression is MS65. I suck at grading Morgans though.

I am thinking Solid Ms-65, great coin with awsome eye-appeal.
  • Russ - The coin has blast white surfaces and cartwheel galore.

Big Al - there are a couple of light scuff marks in the lower left cuadrant of the coin, but they're faint to the naked eye - you only see them well with magnification.

Frank: Nice pickup. Looks like a solid MS-64 with a good shot at a 65 to me. Strike a bit weak over Miss linerty's ear may keep it from 65-ing... image

    She's a very pretty 83-CC !! Well done !! image

No question, solid mid range 65. It wont make 66, too many larger marks on the focal points of the obverse.
  • Nice coin,looks in the 65-66 range.

P.S. Hi K6AZ,haven't seen you in a while.
  • Thanks guys - I too thought it had solid 65 potential with maybe a 50-1 shot at 66 at NGC. I'd be sending it there because they grade these coins in the slab.

Whatever you do, don't bust it out of the GSA holder. These higher grade CC's have become a rarity still in the GSA holder.

Yes - there were a few GSA's that reared their heads long enough to be gotten today image
  • In much better shape than my GSA CCs...image

Strike doesn't look the strongest in the world so I give the pict a 64. The coin may grade higher. image
Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.

Really? Weird! Tassa and I were commenting that we thought you were going to be at the show. Go figure!
  • Man I had ask around for you guys but know one knew who you were. I must have asked the wrong people. Hey did you see the skeleton of the bat? I think Tassa, and I spoke about the bat???? I could tell you didn't want to pay for the coin but your instinct took over.
  • The guy at the table next to the one where we were was Dahlonega (Goldrush Galleries) Next time ask him where we are - he knows us well image
  • I bought my coins to show you guys. Perhaps, we can meet up at the Bessimer show?????
  • Sounds good image
  • Franko,

It's hard to tell what's out in the left field, but I'd say it's a pretty decent 65. Nice coin.

    Bat skeleton? image
  • Tassa,
Did you see the bat skeleton? I think Frank bought the coin on the corner booth, and the other booth on that corner had the bat skeleton.
  • TassaTassa Posts: 2,373 ✭✭
Um...I didn't see the bat skeleton.

  • Between the two photos, I'd give it 64.

With the spot on the reverse and the noise in front of the nose I would grade it a 65, but the hit under the eye and by the cheek, I'd say 64

It looks like a high end MS-64, but the grading services often go easy on CC dollars, so it could go into an MS-65 holder.

I saw the coin. I almost purchased it myself. image I think it has a good chance of being graded MS65 by NGC.
  • I agree it depends on what is going on in front of the face and how distracting that is. It does not look like your typical CC I have to say, very nice clean cheek. Overall very nice coin. Looks like a nice 65 coin, not sure about the 66 after looking at the second picture, look like a tad too many micro disctractions.
Very nice coin, thanks for sharing.
