Take a look at this and tell me what you think..Its been graded,but is it correct?

Well, here it is.... NTC MS63.. I certainly didn't buy it at this grade... but probably paid a little too much for it.It does look nicer in hand than does in pics.

What would you do with this coin?

The pics don't really give you a good shot at what the cheek looks like. From the pics, the cheek has no luster. Provide some better pics of the cheek.

AU-55 to AU-58 on the upside. Luster breaks in unprotected areas of the fields appear to have been lightly cleaned or wiped.

NTC may have "mint stated" the coin, but it looks AU to me... In all honesty...

The obv cheek and fields in front of Miss Liberty are a darker color than the rest to the coin. That means it is not Mint State surfaces. It's a dipped or cleaned slider, AU58.

Looks 55 to me because of a few big hits on the face. Can you get a closer picture of the mint mark area?

I'm seeing too much dullness in the fields, especially the obverse, to go AU 58 on this coin. Definitely shows light circulation. I would go AU55 on it. If you got it for AU55 or less money, you did good notwithstanding the fact that it is in a NTC slab. Bust that coin out of the NTC tomb!

It looks dipped and my estimated grade drops because there are lots of 84-S Morgans that look like this... AU53 perhaps 55 tops. I'm sorry but maybe the coin looks better in person.

Thanks for posting the image. If you are happy with the coin, and if you purchased it as an AU coin, for an AU price, then keep it.

If you have a return privilege from the seller, and are unhappy with it, then perhaps consider returning it.

Thanks for posting it. It shows how NTC overgrades horribly. A real MS63 is 100 times the cost of an Au 1884-S.

If you paid more than its worth as an AU, then I'd return it.

If you want to keep it, I'd remove it from that holder and get it into an accurate holder of a more reputable company.
