A Petition To The King

Your Highness:

News of your impending visit to the Fort Washington show has traveled through your Kingdom. A lowly serf from your province of Chicago was wondering if you would grace your subjects in Chicago with a visit? Although I collect plain two-dimensional cardboard, and not the three-dimensional kalidescope of colors as you, your dedication to the hobby has spread even to those who only see in two-dimensions. As you may be aware, Rosemont has a number of excellent locations for ale and mutton, and I would be happy to suggest a location unless you have one in mind. Nor do we in the outer provinces seek any generosity from you other than the sharing of collecting stories.

A humble peasant,

John
Mainly collecting 1956-1980 Topps Football, 1960-1963 Fleer Football, 1964-1967 Philadelphia Football, 1957-1980 Topps Hockey, 1968-1980 O-Pee-Chee Hockey, and 1976 Topps Basketball. Looking for PSA 9 NQ (or higher) in 1972-1980, and PSA 8 NQ or higher for pre-1972.

  • Oh no....looks like we need to wear our 3D glasses at the Fort this March.
There is a fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness"

  • John,

Hurry up and delete this thread before he sees it.You will have ruined him forever.Otherwise,I am afraid that he will want all of us to rise whan he enters the room at this years PSA luncheon. image

Please be kind to me. Even though I'm now a former postal employee, I'm still capable of snapping at any time.

WOW John..... That was some invite...

I love all that "Knights in Shining Armour" stuff....LOL... I'll be sure to hang that partchment on the castle wall...

I will be at the Chicago Sun Times Show Mar. 19-21 (mid Fri. to early Sun...). Love to sit down with the Registry Guys and break bread. I think they all prefer Gibson's for food and fun. If you know another place, Great!!! Please announce it to the board.

It's always my #1 prioriry to visit with the board members first, and then go and try to "cherry pick" the dealers, except for SetBuilders (Joe and Bob) though, there, I just suck up all the free air, eat all their candy, and talk with the other crazyies that come past his table...Lots of fun.

Don't know where the rumour started...Unfortunatly, I won't be able to come to the Fort this time...I'm tied up on a rather large construction project, and that a critical time. I'll try to make it to the next one.

  • I can't wait to meet the King and the rest of the guys in Chicago. This group seems like good times, BSing and a headache in the morning are all normal daily routines. This board has opened my eyes to some interesting people and I can't wait to meet all of you in person. Well off to the East coast, I here my flight info.

    Thanks,

    Glen

Gibson's is an excellent choice so I wouldn't suggest something else (although there are other fine choices in the Rosemont area). Is there a particular day that the group usually meets? I'm in the area so my schedule is flexible. I would assume Saturday night since some folks might not be there on Friday.
