I just don't get it. A seller with hidden feedback, running auctions with hidden bids, hawking garbage in third world slabs, yet he has thousands of dollars in bids placed in his auctions. Are people really this stupid?

  • CCGS, that's a new one on me.

I wonder if the seller isn't a self-slabber under the CCGS name. How else could someone amass such a pile of coins from an unheard-of outfit?

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

It never really bothers me if a seller sells crap when there's no reserve. It's at about $11, so that would be a steal.
  • Russ - Yes, people are really that stupid. The old "there's a sucker born every minute" was way off - try every nanosecond. A fool and his money are soon parted.

In the same vein, we all know many of W.C. Fields famous quotes, e.g. "You can't cheat an honest man", etc. My all-time favorite is, "Never smarten up a chump."

Edited to add: Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't CCGS a highly respected third-party grading service? image

  • Gadzooks! Even...Tru-Value is better than this. I was captured by the '82 Trade dollar (a favorite of mine) and I can't see the [justification for the] grade they've given it anywhere.

  • he's on the way out the door in a fred serafino fashion.....burn a bunch a once then...*poof* be gone....

to the tune of a hefty jed wad 'o hunnerds and in both pockets at that !!

(whew) that in itself is a lot of work.....working that many lots, scheming, scamming and famboozeling your
BS way through to the end.......then.....

THEN BEFORE YOU FRIGGIN KNOW IT THE SAME SCUMBAG WILL COME BACK LIKE OL FRED AND BURN

and squiggle through the legal system all the whils't doing it .....no lube included....

  • seller also has up on Ebay a 32-D Washington that has been "graded" by the same people. His auction only has a photo of the reverse, no obverse. I wonder why. Edited to say that now I see the pic of the obverse.

I believe their motto is "They bag em, we slab em."
