Maybe I'm an old grouch, but I just can't get into any of these newfangled mint products...commems or regular issues.


Does this one have any relief at all? Maybe the mint should just start putting decals on metal blanks and forget about the "minting" altogether

I was thinking the same thing when I saw the Mint announcement a while back. The Tesla commemorative could have had his Manhattan apartment at night, with lightening bolts shown in the window, while the obverse could have been a large Tesla coil. Not to diminish Tommy's contributions, but if not for Tesla, we would be powering our light bulbs with DC current.

so who inspired Tesla, or are you under the assumption that he was an originator?? rarely is a new idea really new, it's instead built on the previous work of other minds. such is the case with both of these brilliant minds. such is the case with all brilliant minds. discussions about who's the one that should get rcognition, as this Edison commemorative has ended for some, are a bit like the childhood rants about my dad being able to beat up your dad!! silly and ridiculous. lobby a legislator, i'm sure there's one who'll back a Tesla bil. until then, we're saddled with this ugly Edison Commem which wrongly credits Tommy for his work.
