  • A-Rod for Soriano and a minor leaguer

    A-Rod will play 3rd, Enrique Wilson 2nd

    Soriano will probably play SS
  • he's not a lefthanded starting pitcher but i'll take him. an upgrade from boone.

I have always like AROD...I hope the deal gets finalized. He busts his butt and is a class act....he should be playing for a winner.

Sports Illustrated's Tom Verducci says its a done deal

Wonder how the Soriano card prices will hold up with him playing in Texas?

I hate to say it, but this is probably the final nail in the coffin of me being a baseball fan. Rooting for the Yankees is like rooting for TicketMaster. They basically get whoever they want, and the team I grew up rooting for has absolutely no chance. I'm not even going to waste my time anymore.

No such details will spoil my plans...

It's outta hand I agree, but MLB let's situations like this exist so it's hard to blame Steinbrenner for taking advantage of it. Hell.....he's got the money.

It'll just make it more funny when they choke....as they have for the last several years.

alanallen the great thing about this is. its great to see a team like the marlins and there 45 million payroll kick there ass again bc they love to play the game and money doesnt matter. there are so many kids in the minors or just trying out that are allstars.
i am a huge mets fan but watching the marlins win this year reminded me of playing when i was in little league highscholl etc.. it was a team that just enjoyed playing.
Yankees will have to play then goto the movie sets commercials etc.. they wont win the series this year. they might not even win there division. remember boston has lowe schilling and pedro. yanks lost petite clemens and wells. pitching wins.
keep watching and route for the temas to beat those b@stards!

Choke? Did you say choke? The pot calling the kettle black. Look up the word choke in the dictionary and you will see a dirty old pair of red socks.
  • I have a theory about Schilling. I think he will bomb in Boston. He likes to give up those long fly balls which in stadiums other than Fenway will be long outs. You heard it here first.
  • Gee....you're original. We're supposed to choke. It's old already.

On the Schilling topic...I heard it here last. Gammons and the boys were saying that same exact line the day of the trade. Nice try genius.

schilling will dominate the al this year! just like roger will the nl! batters havent seen them that often. they will get blown away.
  • I admit. I am excited at the prospect of AROD. I just upgraded my Season Ticket package and although I had great seats last year, this year they are even better....about 4 sections from first base and a few rows in back of field level seats...awesome.

wow....can jeter and arod CO-EXIST????? 190 million payroll???? WOW...... you got to love the yankees man..... when it comes to baseball they usually get a few years out of all the great players along the way....seems like everybody will be a yankee!!!! LOL

im EXCITED about the possibility of a 2005 heritage 1956 design AROD card... barry who??? that will make the set in his absence.

    loth
  • AlanAllen's post reminded me of the old joke from the 1950's that rooting for the Yankees was like rooting for U.S. Steel.
  • wow....can jeter and arod CO-EXIST?????

This could be the Million $ question. I think it will be tough for both of them. Who's going to be the big dog on the porch now??

MLB economics and management is a total joke. Bud Selig is a clown. The owners are idiots and so is the players' union. It's pretty hard to screw up a monopoly, but they're all doing an excellent job trying to bring it down.

The NFL rules major sports in this country, and it isn't even close.

    Enjoy your collection!

  • I totally agree on the comment about Bud Selig - he is a total pansy. Sure would be nice to have a commissioner that is more concerned about what is good for the game and not what puts more money in the owners and the players pockets.

Selig is a joke, no doubt. However, the Yankees have been doing this since 1918 (probably earlier). The same things people are saying now about ARod they said in the 1920s, 1930s, 1940s, well, you get the picture. The problem is revenue sharing. The problem is the same as it was 50 years ago, and will continue until baseball steps up. Right now, the Yanks have the cash and are willing to spend it. Don't hate the player -- hate the gameimage
