This just came in the mail today:

Magnificent ultra-deep mirrors uninterrupted by mint frost, and fully covering all quadrants when viewed at any angle. Literally paper white super nova devices with no break in the frost anywhere. Any area that looks like frost fade is nothing more than lighting. It's bright and white right down to the smallest device.
I think this coin was likely within the first ten or so struck from a freshly prepared die pair. It is as strong as I've ever seen on a 1964, every bit the caliber of an upper-end deep cameo 1968 thru 1970.
It does have two very faint hairlines in the obverse fields; one on the lower right at the tip of the base of the bust, and the other at the left side by the L in Liberty. These will likely limit the grade to 68, but this coin is one that is so dramatically strong that it may end up 69ing just based on amazing eye appeal.
It will go to NCS because there's a small translucent spot of haze, and because I want the surfaces fully stabilized before it goes in to a holder. Because of the depth of the mirrors on this piece, which makes them very delicate, it is not one that I'll dip myself.
Picked off on eBay for $15 through an early auction close.

<< <i>Mine is a PR69DCAM at PCGS all the way!!! >>
Considering the source of that statement, I'd expect a 67CAM.

<< <i>Nice coin, but, seriously, what is the mark behind the mouth?... >>
Russ flicked a booger on it!!!!

<< <i>but, seriously, what is the mark behind the mouth?... >>
No mark, just a shadow. The coin is so sharply struck that the depression in that area is much deeper than normal on these.

<< <i>there is still gold to be cherried in them thar hills! >>
Yep, Russ picks it out and flicks it on his coins!!!!
<< <i>Very nice Russ but it's not the Accented hair variety. mike >>
If it were, it would be elevated from "HOLY CRAP!" status to "I JUST HAD A HEART ATTACK!" status.

Do you think it will 69? I bet if it did, you would be one happy puppy.
<< <i>Do you think it will 69? >>
No. I think it'll grade 68DCAM. You're right, though, a 69DCAM would make me a happy camper. I just don't think it will be this coin.
