Since we have alot of CU Coin Forum members located here in Houston, would any of you other Houstonians like to form a weekly (or monthly) Coin Swap Meet & Get Together at some central & convenient location??

Bill: Thanks for the reply. JBSteven & DizzleCC have told me that they would likely participate in a regularly scheduled local Houston Forum Member Coin Swap Meet.

I'd also like to hear from other Forum Members whom I met at the Houston MONEY Show in Greenspoint such as: Deadhorse, DPoole, Blade as well as SportsModerator1 and anybody else!!

    Thanks!!

  • I would like to participate, but unfortunately it looks like I will be out of town on buisness for the next couple of months. image

When I get back I would like the opportunity to join in if y'all get this organized. image

Would it be convenient for us to meet (at least initially) at the twice monthly Bellaire Coin Club Mtgs. at the Bellaire City Library at 5111 Jessamine to get to know one another, since the meeting venue is already set up??

If so, the next such meeting is from 6-8pm this Monday Feb 16th.

Here's a link to the most recent Bellaire Coin Club Newsletter for Meeting Logistics: Bellaire Coin Club Feb 2004 Newsletter

Edited to add Bellaire City Library

Louis: You are quite right. I have amended my previous post with the correct meeting location at the Bellaire City Library at 5111 Jessamine. Thanks for catching the error for me!

I have been told that the meetings run from 6:30-8:00pm, but that people begin to congregate at 6:00pm to socialize and begin commerce...

SM1: Thanks for the "thumbs-up" vote of agreement!

For those of you who are interested in a swap meet prior to the 6:30 meeting, let's meet ~6:00pm tomorrow night (Mon Feb 16th) at the Bellaire City Library at 5111 Jessamine which is 3 blocks south of Bellaire Blvd off of South Rice St. image

  • Maybe next time for me. I've got a prior commitment for Monday evening.

Post a thread about how it goes and remind those of us who are too absent minded to remember the next time around

Tonekiller, don't you live over 100 miles away?

Otherwise, y'all have a great time.

The process engages all the hidden forces of economic law on the side of destruction, and it does it in a manner which not one man in a million is able to diagnose."
John Marnard Keynes, The Economic Consequences of the Peace, 1920, page 235ff
  • I will try to make it tomorrow night, no promises though. I'm preparing to leave for Iowa Tuesday morning so my schedule will be pretty tight.
