Where are more high grade State Quarters found, bags or rolls?

I'm not a dealer, but coins from the mint always go into bags before they go into rolls. So my guess would be bags, because it least ones in a bag havent gone through a counting and rolling machine first.

All coins are shipped from the mint in the jumbo bags now. They are rolled by private
contractors for shipment to banks. The only smaller bags are those sold by the mint
as $250 or $25 bags at a premium. Generally mint sets are the best place to find gems
but this varies from year to year and coin to coin.

  • I get the U.S. mint state quarter rolls sent to me.

Most of the coins in those rolls are not too good. (banged up real good)
The majority of ms68 quarters are coming out of mint sets, mostly P's, d's are tough to find.

I'm getting the 100 count mint bags and quality is sort of hit and miss.

I just finished going through the MI State quarter bags. The D mint was terrific, lots of good looking coins. The P mint was a stinker.
