FRANCE 5-50 Francs Ebay Auction, Need your help!

Hi all,
Do you think this is a good deal or should I ignore it?
I am looking for the Franc's with Hercules on them.
I am not sure if those are the ones I am looking for.

    The price is fair, but....... my general rule of thumb is:

    PowerSeller + ALL CAPS TEXT + 10X as many terms and conditions as there is item description = Find another auction to bid on.

    Actually, I know Rich and the other guys at ACSB. They're basically a mail-bid house, although they've expanded it to online bidding and eBay. I've sent him a note to clarify his T&Cs. They're usually pretty accurate in their grading, but not much into offering pics. I gave up on their mail bids a long time ago because they start them at Krause, which means you only get bargains where Krause is way too low and nobody else notices it.

    I completely agree. After viewing that auction, I scrolled down so fast that it took me a while to find the description amongst the "Terms and Conditions."

    I just won one of his auctions for a 1987 $5 U.S Commemorative for my Eagle collection. Seamed nice enough to me. Still waiting for the coin the auction only ended a couple of days ago.

    I got a response back from Rick. Yes, non-US bidders are permitted to bid on these "foreign coin" lots. Here's what he had to say:

    << <i>We are aware of the discrepancy in our listing. The terms of sale we list in all of our auctions is automatically inserted from a saved template. You can only save one template for automatic insertion and its not worth the effort to go in and adjust the template for the rare occasion that we have items we are willing to ship outside the US. The only items we will ship outside the US are the group of foreign lots we have up now that are titled similar to this one: "FRANCE 5-50 Francs 1945-1971 VF-UNC,LOT OF 13". We will ONLY ship these auctions outside the US. All of our other material we ship to US only. We made an exception for these foreign lots and thats why we have listed "WE WILL SHIP WORLDWIDE BUT IF YOU DO NOT INSURE THE PACKAGE, WE ARE NOT LIABLE IF THE PACKAGE IS LOST OR DAMAGED!" with the description of the lot and why we put "Will ship worldwide" as the SHIP TO location. We figure the SHIP TO option for ebay's auction listing will be more valid in the case of some kind of dispute, more so than our terms of sale in the description, so we made sure to at least change that. But there was no reason to go and make the minor adjustment to the terms of sale for these few lots. Besides, you're one of the few people that actually read our terms of sale, most pay no attention to it! Thanks for that! image Hope this helps! >>

    I advised him he ought to make the exception clearer in his descriptions, since it confuses most buyers.
