How dare anyone such a low grade monstrocity! Coins are meant to be taken seriously. Someone's having fun with their coins?! ::Shesh::

I wouldn't be surprised if this coin was at one time, early in Teletrade's life, sent to them by an inexperienced collector for auction. I seem to recall that Teletrade would submit the coins to ANACS for grading and auction them when they came back. I don't know if this is still done.
    All glory is fleeting.
  • Probably sent in by someone using one of those 10-10-10 specials that ANACS runs. He was one coin short of the required 10 so they threw that in. It happens.

    I maybe stupid...

  • Dennis,

The S mark is there, on the reverse, just below the eagle, center and at the point where the design goes to completely worn. Only 69 graded higher at PCGS!!!

Because they wanted to slab it.
  • I agree with Conder, probably part of a group of coins that were sent in either from an estate or to get the volume discount.

Looking for an upgrade because the obverse is AG-3 but the Reverse is PO-1 giving ANACS grade of FR-2

I assume it was slabbed to clear up any confusion if it was a FR-2 or PO-1

..........and i would wonder out loud why all the Morgan Bullion continues to get holdered?? really, how many more MS63/64/65 common date slabs can the market support?? that's a fair question, i guess, until you consider that they're all needed for the ever increasing dealer-dealer trades at the larger shows. then it all becomes clear.

LovethoseIndians overstates things somewhat, but the gist of his simple reply speaks to many holdered coins--------and let's not even get into discussion of logjams!! we should leave that to lumberjacks, traffic cops and HRH.

Amazingly, the date and mint mark are just about the ONLY thing visible!
