Edited to add: If it is the real deal, and the coin is BU, you have a big chunk of change on your hands. Rainbow target toning is very rare on Peace Dollars.

nankraut,
You ever see a toned coin that you didn't think was fake?
Trooper,
How is the luster, and what does the reverse look like? Fully lustrous and an un-toned reverse would be good signs. Or, is this a coin you don't have in hand?

JMHO, of course.

I think you need a new monitor. It's not brown, it's green, and the color sequence on the coin is in the correct order for natural toning. I'm not saying that it is, it is simply too difficult to tell from that crappy image. But, I don't think we can automatically write this one off.

Here's my suggestion - go get an AU Peace dollar and a blow torch and see if you can "duplicate" what you have here........
liver of sulphur is used to `antique or add patina to` coins or metal objects.
<<<<HI, SORRY I DONT HAVE A PICTURE OF THE REVERSE. IT TOO IS TONED. THE
REVERSE IS DARKER BUT WHEN YOU TILT IT YOU CAN SEE BLUES AND GREENS. A
REAL
PRETTY COIN. THANKS AGAIN, Dave>>>>
Got me on this one. Will have to post a pic when it arrives
