I am looking for a sturdy copy stand that will not tip when camera is mounted at a price that will not break the bank. Also there is another issue of how many lights may be needed when taking pictures of raw & slab coins. I have a nikon coolpix 4300 camera. I would appreciate any help provided.

I use one or two lights, just plain incandescent bulbs. Do a custom white balance, if available w/your camera.
We'll use our hands and hearts and if we must we'll use our heads.
I don't have any pictures of it but i would be glad to take some if you are interested. Leave a msg here or PM me. In theory I could even build one for you.

How far can you extend the camera from the support post? I take mostly coin album pics, and I need the extra extension. With my tripod, that's the biggest problem I have.
Thanks.
I have a brand new copy stand for sale if you are interested. PM me for details. I will respond to your pm a little later when I get home. My copy stand has 6 lights (3 on each side).
I use the cloud dome setup and that is why this one is for sale.
Mine looks like this one

Keep a note book - which camera and settings you use shooting which coin variety (copper, gold, silver) and the best result yield using which lighting/background. It helps as a quick reference later.

I attach my Nikon 4300 to it with a 1/4 (20) thumbscrew. I use 2 or three lights depending upon what I am shooting.
