kernofbellevue's scam re 1885 CC morgan

You guys/girls are good!

Thanks for your emails last night. Thanks to you, I notified the authorities. Kern (alleged real name Jonn Coleman) has responded to my last email with the following:

"I need you to just send the coin back to me... It is the WRONG COIN for that auc... I'm sending you your money back... Thanks..."

I doubt he sent anything. Still haven't received the refund he claims to be sending through Paypal, but I'm confident the matter will be resolved because I paid with a credit card and not funds from an account.

He stole the picture from aurasoma's auction #2222285298. She was very helpful, actually emailing me a copy of the coin in her possession last evening. Kern's auction # was 2222317392 in case you'd like to see what he did.

As you can see, I've joined the forum and look forward to participating in the future.

Thanks again
Lou Lamatina

Welcome aboard, Jaspers. I was the one who first noticed what happened. I am very pleased you paid with a Credit Card. If he doesn't refund your money by the time you get your Credit Card bill, dispute it with the Credit Card company and PayPal will likely authorize a credit to your account.

  • Oh my God, you're a Met fan. I hope none of my friends see this.

Welcome, Jasper...I think you'll glean a plethora of knowledge on this forum. (how's that for obfuscating dialogue?)image

  • Welcome to the boards, Lou. Nice scambusting. BTW, as of April 2000, Visa debit cards have exactly the same purchase protection and fraud liability as do their credit cards (i.e., zero). Prior to April 2000, it was $50. Now, you have ZERO liability for both debit and credit cards. So I highly recommend to you and everyone else that you do what I did and have a plasectomy and CUT UP ALL OF YOUR CREDIT CARDS AND CLOSE ALL OF YOUR ACCOUNTS. Then, use one simple Visa debit card for PayPal and other on-line purchases. As you can tell Lou, I am a strong proponent of living your life without the use of debt. Like most of us, I was brought up taught that debt is a "tool", you "have" to have a credit card, etc. I have had to unlearn all of these things, and folks here will tell you that I am a proponent of living without debt. image
