I Just Bid $125 on a 1971 Low Pop Common And Didn't Meet The Reserve!

Boy, its getting tough when you don't meet $100+ reserves on PSA 8 commons. I just bid $125 on a 1971 Topps #743 O'Donoghue in PSA 8 and noticed on the "Items Watching" screen that that was the final price. Lo and behold, I open the auction and find I didn't meet the reserve. For the record, there are 8 8's and 1 9 of this card.

The last 8 I saw on ebay sold for around $170. I think Chris R. bought it.

Collector of baseball PSA sets from the 1970's & hockey rookie cards; big New York Rangers fan (particularly now that they are sleeping with the enemy with Holik and Kaspiritus). Also starting to collect 53 Bowman Color as I think they are the most beautiful cards I have seen.

  • Coming soon to an E-bay site with which I am familiar, a PSA 8 1971 #577 Jim Lonborg. 1 of 5. No reserve to worry about.

Whoa! That should fetch a nice price! As I recall the Claude Raymond and the Jim Lonborg are the top two toughest commons. A couples weeks ago, a PSA 8 Raymond went for something like $540 on eBay. Good luck!

  • Just a month ago, there were only 3 PSA 8 Lonborgs out there. The pop has almost increased 100% in the last few weeks.
