Finishing a set question

I have a question about completing a modern set. I'm one card away from finishing a set of 2000 SP Authentic FB rookies. I currently have 32/80 PSA 10's and 47/80 PSA 9's. There are 90 common cards in this 171 card set. Do you think I should finish the complete set graded? I know that vintage cards are well worth it, but should I attempt this? I'm not sure if this idea is worth the effort and cost. It's hard to tell what this set maybe worth, any clue? Just wanting some professional and collector opinions.. Thanks for the help

  • This is a personal judgment call on your part.

Of course, even if you submitted the rest of the 90 commons for the $5/set registry special, that'll be about $500 out of your pocket (inclu all the shipping costs and fees). I doubt you'll recoup that in a sale (even if it's for the completed set), but if you're going to hold onto it for a long time, it might be worth it for your own satisfaction.

I've got a complete set of 1950 Bowman baseball and I've only had most of the HOFers graded and some of the tougher commons. I guess once another 'special' comes out for these, I might go ahead and submit them all - not to eventually sell them, but to have a complete set I can enjoy (and know that they're safely encapsulated).
