POLL! What kind of gloves do you use to handle coins?

Just wondering what kind of gloves you use (recommend) to handle your coins?

I don't like putting gloves on at all. I just make sure I'm concentrating on what I'm doing.

I use finger condoms. They work fine for me......

    And, no fingerprints.

  • I usually don't handle raw coins very much, but when I do, I use some non-sterile latex gloves that my dad uses for handling film negatives, another thing that is bad to get fingerprints on! image

Aside from all the innuendo, I only use cotton gloves to get coins into my double sided album. Otherwise I don't worry about it.
  • Cotton or powder-free latex.

Specializing in coins with "thin film interference" & "sulfur impregnated surfaces" due to hanging out with "old bags" and "wrappers"
  • None, the gloves get my hands and the gloves all sweaty and I end up dropping the coin.I just handle them carefully by the edges, haven't fingerprinted a coin yet.

nwcs, sorry for the innuendo, but somewhere it kind of took on a life of it's own.

I,m one that doesnt believe in useing gloves to handle coins.
As long as your not touching the sufaces and only holding the coin
by the edges with clean dry hands, you have little to worry about, other than dropping the thing.
Thats always a concern. Dont be nervous and you wont drop it most likely.

  • Powder-free latex when I'm handling them for excessive periods of time (putting in 2x2's, inspecting numerous coins under a magnifying glass).
