Big Jump in 2003-D Jefferson Pops this week

What a jump in the pops for this coin.

They went from 20,19,18,3 (63,64,65,66) to 37,46,23,3 in one week. The 64's more than doubled. Now if someone will just sell me one cheap. Still a tough date to find in better grades though.

That is cool that -0- MS66FS coins came out of the large submission. What a tough little nickel this date is.

Thanks again on the "heads up" on the last 66FS offered on ebay!

  • I have 2 in right now. I am looking for 67FS on them but suppose 66FS would not be bad. The best 2 out of 40 rolls, they are tough in high grade.

3 of those additions were mine. Best of 5 rolls. 2xMS65FS, 1xMS64FS.

    Those deltas are
    17 in 63
    17 in 64
    5 in 65

Looks like I made 40% of the new 65s, out of just about 8% of the coins going in.

  • Watch them get 65FS'd now that I published this. They were nicer than the 03-P's that I sent in with the same order. It sure would be nice to POP a 67FS. Its nice to see other taking a swing at this date. It proves how tough it is. The mint set coins I got sucked big time. I purchased a bunch of rolls from the mint and went through them to get these coins.

Mine were from 5 roll sets. Previously from 50 mint sets, I got no D-mint nickels worth submitting.

I also own a MS65 FS graded 03-D that I sent in myself. It was made from going through 10 rolls. It was the only coin worth sending in. Recently I went through another 25 rolls and have found 6 promising coins (all look as good or better than the MS65FS I had already made), but I haven't got around to submitting them yet.

Well, the pop for MS66 doubled this week. (we know where one came from). Guess some nicer 03-D's are finally being found.
