Photos of my new 1924 Merc

Hello Mercateers!

I wish I could do this dime justice with my photography skills, but so far no luck. The reverse is a pretty good likeness. I just cannot get the colors and the luster to both show on the obverse at the same time, so you are viewing my best effort. The obverse looks much better in hand, both luster and color, where you can rotate it and catch the light. Maybe Ken will swing by and help me a little on his travels!

Wayne

    Wayne,

I know the feeling about photo skills but your picture is quite nice indeed nevertheless and nice bands to boot.

    Wayne,

I've had similar problems in photographing some toned coins. Try tilting it slightly, and look through the viewfinder to see if you're getting an accurate image, then press the shutter and hope for the best. The reverse looks awesome, and if the obverse is equally nice, you've got a winner. Congrats!

Man that thing is Very Dark. I am somewhat suprised that you bought a coin like this one. Did you ask anyones opinion on that slug before you purchased it ? If you did the person must have been nutso if they gave you a go ahead to put your hard earned cash out for it. Sorry for the somewhat bad review but I have to call a spade a spade when I see it.

    Hi Ken,

Wow, I was really depressed with your review of my new Merc. I don't think you called a spade a spade, I think you call it a f@*%king shovel! I know it is an eyesore to some, but that is OK as it puts a smile on my face and makes my heart beat fast! You should just see it in person with the luster and colors flashing as you rotate it in the light. I can't stand to lock it up, it sits here by my keyboard so I can look at it anytime I want and think "slug? No way!"

Ken, when you offer 66FB money, I will think about listening. image

Once a sales person always a sales person. Problem on this coin at 66 money is that I know what you paid for it so the American Barter System comes into play. You know sort of like buying a car, you have your price and I have mine and if we do not meet at a happy medium...... I Walk.

Darn now everyone knows who that crud opinion about this coin came from....image or did you get more than one opinion....image

    Cheers.
