Viking Ships on Coins & Medals

I have enjoyed so many of the images that are on this forum and thought that I would show a few of my newest ships. I have a collection of Viking Ships on coins and medals. When I started it, I was told that I might get to 40 or 50 pieces. I have been at it for several years, and I now have over 150 different ones. Some are really quite nice, and several have very low mintages.
These that are here today took several years of searching to find, but they were all worth the wait.
This is a 70mm bronze Medal from Portugal.
This is a Silver Medal from Norway It had a very low mintage from 1914. As soon as it gets here from Norway, I will have a better image of it to post.
This is a silver Medal or token from Odense Denmark. If you note, the date is 1997, and the denomination is 20 Euros. Denmark did not vote for the Euro, but this was done a few years before the vote.
I hope you all enjoy these. There are lots of others to come in the future.
Thanks to Bill for pointing me in the right direction as to loading images.

Some of the medals are great! Especially a couple of the Fench ones. I will have to image those next.

Come on over ... to The Dark Side!
<< <i>DBSt Tader2 - I have one that is VF, but since they were made of Zinc, I have never run into a clean one that is not dark. Anybody have a really bright one (well, as bright as Zinc gets) for sale or trade?
Bob >>
I've got a few bright uncs somewhere, but if memory serves they all have tarnish. This
is a coin I've been seeking for many years in gem. They are not common.
And I'm posting here some link to Viking shipcoins, most of guys and gals here are already saw it, but I suppose that for you it might be a new one .
I just eager to see more of your longboats---do you have a list of your collection? If yes, I'll very glad to get that list by e-mail, if it don't mind you-- it can help me to "hunt" for some new ones (but I'm not going to invest money in such ones that Trozau showed!) And here is the link:
Viking ships (starting from the IOM 50 pence coin) you can enlarge all the images , by clicking on it.
Edited to add: Could anybody remind me , please, what is it "Mardi Gras"--thanks in advance!
I have a few and always want more.
You presented 2 I have never seen before, including the Norwegian Medal. Nice coins/Medals.

Mardi Gras doubloons are typically 39/40 mm aluminum "throws" which were given
to those who attended the parades. Generally they were actually thrown from the
floats. They come in many different colors and do vary somewhat in size and compo-
sition. In their heyday there would be hundreds of new designs/types each year. A.
Sharpe designed large numbers of these and are often quite good. Ships were a com-
mon scene and some of the best depict various ships through the ages. If memory
serves some of the best viking ships were issued in a multi year series by a single
krewe.
Doubloons start at just a few cents each but go up to hundreds of dollars for rare is-
sues and those made out of gold. Many were issued in bronze for distribution to in-
siders and these can occasionally be found cheaply.
Some of my favorites are those issued by businesses and goverment and all those
with good art work or part of an extensive series. Many of these are very casually
designed and made but even these have their charms.
Mardi Gras is literally "fat Tuesday" and is a celebration held each year in New Orleans,
Luisiana which culminates on "fat Tuesday". There are other such celebration such as
in Pensacola and Mobile and they even have throws, but if someone just says Mardi
Gras then they are probably referring to the New Orleans event.(in this country)

Edited to add: is it a medal?
I do have the Norse medal in both Thick & Thin. I would like Gold or the large Bronze, but have never seen one for sale.
I will also post a few Mardi Gras tokens later.
