Palm Springs/Desert and Bay area shops for vintage cards

I don't know if this is the right place to post this kind of thing. I'm mainly a set/vintage collector and most of the people I communicate with are on this board (and it's the only one I consistently check and read through).

I'm a software consultant so I travel around the US quite a bit. I'm gonna be in Palm Springs later this week/weekend and then Portland, and then the Bay Area (SF and East Bay).

Anyone know of any good stores to get good raw or PSA graded vintage material in the Palm Springs or Bay areas?

Thanks!

  • I live in Riverside, near Palm Springs, and have not been able to locate a good vintage source anywhere in the area. If you find one let me know. My one reliable vintage source went belly up almost 10 years ago.

The few stores that remain open in this area focus on new stuff, or whatever vintage they have is pretty low grade. Every once in a while I stumble on a nice star card in decent condition.

  • I'm in the bay area, most of the shops that are left deal newer stuff. If anyone knows of a place I'm listening! I need a new place to hang out.

    CHEERS!!
  • If you are in the Bay Area on the 20-22, Tri-Star is having a show at the Cow Palace
  • Bummer. I'm going to be in the Bay area the weekend of March 13th. Oh well.

And Larry, when I'm on the road, if it's a cold weathered city, I'm always game to check out a shop, esp. if it has vintage material.
Otherwise, I bring my sticks (golf clubs) and play!
