Am I torturing Ebay sellers?

BarryBarry Posts: 10,100 ✭✭✭
For example, I see this auction, which is a date I'm looking to upgrade (though even with this poor pic, I don't think this coin is for me).

I email the seller:
Hi,
Can you email larger pics to me. Can't quite make out the coin's
details. Thanks.

He responds:
THE WAY THE WORK FLOWS IT IS NOT POSSIBLE
IT IS A NICE COIN- THE CC IS INSIDE THE BOW

I debate whether to respond, and being in a sarcastic mood this morning, I send this:
Oh well. The way my bids flow, it is not possible.

Am I picking on the mentally challenged or senile? I certainly don't want to do that...

    Almost poetic...

    THE WAY THE WORK FLOWS
    IT IS NOT POSSIBLE
    IT IS A NICE COIN-
THE CC IS INSIDE THE BOW

    Like a ABCA stanza...

I think your response was good. Although maybe:

    THE WAY MY BID FLOWS
    IT IS NOT POSSIBLE
IT MAY BE A NICE COIN-
    I DO NOT KNOW

Yes Barry you were rude & mean. You are a bad bad man.
The seller knew that really what you want to know is whether or not the CC is inside the bow or on the outside. You are intimidated by psychic sellers that answer your ?? before you even ask thus your hostility toward them.
Were you by any chance frightened by a clown when you were a small child?

Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.

I'm with you....too many sellers simply seem to be saying "It is what it is"......which says something about the seller doesn't it? Occasionally I have people ask me for better pictures and I oblige....usuually its simply a case of sending them the original JPG which isn't resized smaller as it is on ebay and I don't reduce the reolution so it loads fast like on ebay. I've yet to have anyone say the picture still sucks and they want better. Its not much effort but for some people, any effort seems to be too much.......

so that eBayer doesn't want to make money - it's their loss. I always try to accomodate, and send extra pics if needed. I even offer in my auction - "if you need more pics, please email me." It all boils down to good ole customer service.

More likely it's that the coin is a piece of crap and providing good images would reveal that. The images didn't start tiny like they are in the auction, they were shrunk to that size. Why not provide the large ones?

Probably neither. You asked your question and the seller responded. He may not have responded the way you think he should have, but he responded.

His motives for his response are his own and the decision to bid or not is your decision.

It's eBay NOT Stacks etc., etc.

It takes a whopping 2 minutes to scan and email detailed pics........ if they can't be bothered, their loss.

As far as your method of replying, I think it was appropriate considering their equally detailed and thoughtful response.
