Roosevelt dime registry question.

Just curious about the scoring. I am number 13 on the 1964-now roosevelt registry. The guy in front of me is ahead by .02 however, I have three coins grade highre

  • Probably the set is weighted and the other set has coins that have higher weights. Pull up the list, go to the bottom of the list and "hit" set comp.

Well, you're 12th now! And it's 1965-now. <g> Do not question the registry. It's an enigma. It is powerful and mystic. Many do not understand it's ways. Fear not. Just be one with the registry...O.K. O.K. I got into the wine again.

But it is strange the way the scores turn out sometimes. I'm 19th in the 1965-present Clad Roosie set. Yet my GPA, set complete%, and FB % are higher than the 18th position. I also have an '82 no P (he doesn't) and that should be the key coin. You can email PCGS and they'll check the scores for you. Usually they're right but ya never know. But you do have an amazing complete set there! Be proud of it and keep upgrading. If you stay in love with that beautiful little dime, someday you will have the finest set. Love those Roosie's and congratulations on a very impressive set!

Waldo, if you look at all the coins in the set you are missing more weighted coins than your competitor is. Yes, you have the 82 No P but you are missing the 74 thru 76-D run that your competition has in his set. These coins are weighted more than the newer coins you have that he does not, i.e. last few years. This is what makes up the difference in your ratings.

  • Thanks for clearing that up.
  • Thanks for the responses to my question. To be more specific, I am #12 and the guy who is #11 is .02 ahead. The set is weighted, but his 65 and 66 SMS are MS67 and mine are MS67CAM so I should get the cam bonus. The only coin of his that is superior is his 69-S in 69DCAM and mine is 68DCAM. I don't really care in the grand scheme of things but I just want to understand the system. I might have a 1967 MS68CAM in hand soon. that should help. Anyone care to comment on the outrageous prices for PR70DCAM dimes (1980-2004)?
  • his 65 and 66 are ms68 not ms67, my mistake image

It sure is strange seeing that Roosie icon and not seeing colorfulcoins name under it.
  • Hello Nick, you have great roosies. I will try to live up to colorfulcoins image
