Are any of these Mercury Dimes error coins ?

image

I'm very new to coin collecting, so I can't tell the difference if these are errors or just humans taking their anger out on Mercury Dimes

NOTE: #3 ... the color difference you see in the picture is the true color

If you want to see larger pictures, let me know.

Thanks for your time.

Coin 3 is cause by hitting the edge of a coin repeatedly with a spoon or similar item. You can completely round over the edge of coins like this.
  • I would say no... #3 had the rims tapped in with a hammer, I have a Jefferson nickle like that... #2 looks like it's just damage and #1 looks like damage or graffiti to me... not really an expert, haven't seen enough to know...

None are errors. The first coin has a mark caused by a counting machine. (Check that 1942-D date carefully for the over date!)

#1 Damage from an old cylinder type coin bank.
    #2 Parking lot coin.
    #3 Spooned coin.
Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.

Looks like some old time Barber Dime collector got pissed at the series that replaced his favorite.

    Sorry its all damage....image

Dog nailed all three of them. Most of the dimes I've seen with damage like on coin #1 were Barber dimes, back when I had a circ set I had a VG 1895-S with a nice circle carved in the reverse.
