The only reason they are bringing that kind of money is because of the novelty and the fact they are (for now) only coming from the Mint. Once others see the opportunity and start making their own, the price will collapse and never recover because no one will be able to tell the difference.
  • In the first articles that were published on these it was stated that the particular pattern used in the crushing machine was going to be exclusive to the mint so even if you did get the equipment the pattern that appeared on the coins you crushed would not be the same as on the genuine mint pieces. Also I don't think it would be worthwhile to get the machine to create your own. I would imagine it is quite expensive.
  • IMHO, latest example of stupid people with stupid money. The mints are admitting that it's scrap metal and can be sold to whomever for whatever price. These things will be a dime a dozen (or less) within a month or so. Gee, I wish I had paid big $s for the first few on ebay!!!!

The most I would ever spend on a waffled coin such as this would be $20.00, for the novelty of course. I just don't see how this could be worth much, if anything, in the future.

I can guarantee that these early buyers will be very sorry in the near future!!! The seller of the last one has many more to put up a few at a time and many others will have them too!!
