Those same Europeans will be wanting to re-patriate those coins, especially with the weaker Dollar!

  • I really did take advantage of the high value of the dollar in the mid 80's as well as the slow coin market.
I guess the Europeans are having their turn now. It is really to bad I did not know more about what I was buying at that time. I bought dozens of ancient silvers and a couple ancient golds, but it seems there is still no interest in those. I also bought a few fantstic modern proofs that I have never check to see what they were of if they were even low mintages. Let me look through these books and see what else you might be interested in. Anyone have any requests as far as countries go ?

  • O.K. civitas, here we go. I think at this point we should at least stay with coins made from some type of metal.
That being the case lets start in China where metal was used as coinage in large amounts, even if they did not have the shape down. How would you like to carry a pocket full of coins around with corners. No pockets left after a heavy day at the market. I will post these three and then go on a search for others.

The first is a Warring States Chinese coin from 475 B.C. I am not even going to talk to NGC about a slab for this one.

Next is a Ptolemy the 3rd from Egypt

Then a Potolemy the 13th from Egypt/ 81 B.C., I guess this one is AU it still has mint luster Ha Ha
