Do you love SPECTACULAR TONED FRANKIES???

I know you do!!! Well, several people on these boards do, anyhow. The Haig Koshkarian Collection and other numismatic properties (including the Legend Collection of Trade Dollars) will go live for viewing and bidding pleasure this week on the American Numismatic Rarities website: www.anrcoins.com
Here are some teasers for you Frankie fans (if I can figure out how to link the photos, that is).

Here's praying I am not totally inept, but I have never posted an image before. They should appear as a 1952-S MS-67 (NGC), a 1957-D MS-66 FBL (PCGS), and a 1960-D MS-65 FBL (PCGS).

I am editing to say that I am Jenna from ANR. I am sure I have spoken with several of you on the phone before!

    Thanks, Shamika.
How'd you do that, anyhow? If I am going to be hanging around this place (I have been reading for a LONG time) I suppose I should know how to.
  • Nice dazzling frankies! I personally like the 57-d, would look great in my collection! image

Beautiful coins. I particularly love the 1960-D Half.

    Wonderful luster and toning. Congrats.

"Half Bad"??? Shakespeare would be amused (puns were his forte).

I suppose I should introduce myself a little better. My name is Jenna Van Valen-King, yes, related to Frank Van Valen, I am his daughter. I "grew up" in the business, you could say. I spent my formative years whining to Frank "I HATE coins daddy, I don't WANT to go to the coin show with you!" or "I don't WANT to go to the flea market with you," or "I don't WANT you to give me a coin in my stocking again this Christmas." But alas, the things we hate we become. Or so someone once said.
I wear many hats at ANR, as many staffers do, and out of work I am a photographer and an actress in community theater.

I currently am busy building a collection of antique cameras (and usable camera equipment) and spend way too much money on my beloved VW convertible to invest in coins, but hey, I get to hold beautiful and rare coins for a living. Any collection I could assemble would be disappointing. I DO have a gorgeous lavender Walker, and a Morgan dollar at home, but if I were to start to collecting I would collect commemorative half dollars as I am an artist and find the designs more eye catching than other US Coins. Particularly the reverse of the Connecticut and the Bridgeport.

    Nice to "meet" everyone here.

Glad to see you all appreciate the images, Mr. Koshkarian's coins are all appealing, and I am not just gushing! Wait until you see them all.

Nice to meet you Jenna and welcome aboard for the ride here. Beautiful Frankies and people on here certainly know their Frankies. The colors are wonderful to behold.

Uhhhh what grade, date, and is it for sale?image
  • Those are very beatiful Franklins. Thanks for sharing them.image

Puff- It's pretty, not rare or anything. It's a 45-S in 63. It was a stocking stuffer from dad. The reverse is lavender and sky blue, and a little pale gold mixed in for good measure.

And to everyone else...I didn't mention the gorgeous Roosies in the sale! They are being sold as a group, so there won't be a color photo on line (we only photo single lots or proof sets) but if you are going to Baltimore you should check out the set in Lot Viewing. The colors on these Frankies is similar to the Roosevelt dime collection.
I mean it when I say Haig Koshkarian assembled a visually stunning collection. Anyone who was lucky enough to see it over the years when he showed it off at the Long Beach Conventions can back me up on that. Even to a non-numismatist's eye (though I have seen so many coins it's overwhelming sometimes) to see his collection, in the Capitol holders, laid out, was stunning. And on top of assembling a nice collection, he's a very friendly, funny, gentleman!

I thought Russ was trying to stun us all with his wit. image I took "half bad" as a pun on the fact that it is a half dollar.

Welcome Jenna, those sure are nice coins! I know you are new here and I am sure you don't know this but advertising coins in a thread is not allowed on this forum you must use this one BUY/SELL/TRADE FORUM. A link in your signature line is acceptable. If this was allowed all this forum would be is one big advertisment. mike image

    Jenna,

I actually went by ANR's booth in Long Beach on Saturday to see the Rosy's but alas, no one was there! Very disappointed......any chance you (hint hint hint) could get some pictures of the Rosy set - I know they won't be as visually superb as the individual Frankie pictures you posted here - but anything is better than nothing! Love that color......
