Oh why! oh why! do I do this?

I bid on an eBay auction a few weeks ago and won. In the mail today came:

1 roll of 30 Unc 1965 Brit. Pennies
1 roll of 30 Unc 1966 Brit. Pennies

1 roll of 46 Unc 1965 Brit. Halfpennies
1 roll of 45 Unc 1966 Brit. Halfpennies

What to do with them now? Sorry, no giveaway on these heavy rolls.

Send them to Cameron to make sample slabs. No, wait- I think he needs to have at least 500 of the same date.

I just got a bag of nickel-brass portcullis-type 3d. Some Georgies, but mostly circulated QE2. What am I gonna do with all those ?

    XpipedreamR,
Good question. It was one of those auctions were the coins were going so cheaply I just couldn't say no. I picked up all four rolls for $16.00 or about 10c each.

I have a giveaway in progress.

Now maybe I know what some of the other "mystery freebies" in addition to the French 2-Euro will be... image

Not really. I already cherrypicked the EF-AU, earlier 3d from the lot and threw the rest in my 10c bin at the mall.

I also have a giveaway in progress. I can only do one thing at a time.

    Ajaan:

well... are they original Bank of England wrapped rolls? Are they red and MS67 quality? This is one option...

I can see it now... A 1d and 1/2d making their American debut on the Home Shopping network to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Beattles first visit to the States! Think of the excitement and fun for all! Instead of John, George, Paul and Ringo you get the Queen looking quite nice on British coinage that has not seen the light of day in nearly 40 years! And what would you pay to own a piece of history that has been so well preserved? Perhaps $20 per coin?

Not today... we are offering a one time special that even Ed Sullivan couldn't do... both coins a 1d and 1/2d that are GEM quality Brilliant Red Uncirculated for the price of $9.99 and if you act now, shipping will be at no extra charge. Unfortunately, we have a limited supply so order your deluxe GEM quality Red Brilliant Uncirculated coins today!
