Never seen or heard of this slab or grading company. Anyone familiar with it or is it yet another cheesy home made thing?

I don't know if it's legit, but it certainly is cheesy!

Looks like a 40's style throwback slab. But I don't think plastic was commercially available yet - maybe it's bakelite.

  • What I find so hard to believe is that it would appear that this outfit has slabbed at least TWO coins!!!

It looks like the 2 piece Capitol plastics holder with a printed insert.

  • Saw those for the first time last April. Here is the text from the page that will be in the second edition of the slab book.

SDGS 1 Why bother designing a second label? Just put the same one on both sides. I first saw this slab in an eBay auction in April of 2003. All the seller could tell me about the company was that it was located in Texas and that they only slabbed silver dollars. Well he could have told me a lot more. I found out later that the eBay seller OWNED the service. SDGS is owned by Chuck Furjanck and most likely is not a true grading service but it doesn’t appear to be just an anti-switching measure either. The slab is once again a sealed Capital Plastics’ holder.
