Stupid question, but somebody has to do it...

in PCGS Set Registry Forum
On the back of PCGS slabs, to the right of the silver PCGS logo and above the bar code, there is a holographic "sticker" of sorts. What on earth is it called and what purpose does it serve?
currently owned by 5 Labradors

Blaze - Yellow male b 3/17/93
Onyx - Black male b 3/7/99
Duchess - Yellow female mix b 3/12/02 rescued 9/18/02
Rifle - Yellow male mix b 12/1/02 rescued 8/8/03
Diamond - Black female b 5/3/05 adopted 8/3/05

    It's a hologram. The purpose is to make counterfeiting the slabs more difficult.
    Give Blood (Red Bags) & Platelets (Yellow Bags)!

    so does the coin loose any value if the hologram has been rubbed off?

    If the label has been rubbed off it shouldn't matter, the coin can be verified by the serial number. And for a whole $5. it can be reslabbed.
