Ok, here is the story. I collect David Garrard rookies so naturally I look on Ebay once or twice a day under his name to see if any new cards have been listed with a Buy It Now or something. Anyway, About 2 months ago I purchased a 2002 Playoff Rookie Stallions Auto David Garrard RC which was serial numbered 68/100. It ended at like $5.60 or so. Just like most of my auctions, I paid through Paypal within 2 days or so if not immediately after.
Check out Ebay item # 2764815228. I won the card on 11/13/03.
Well as it turns out, I never checked this guys feedback and he has tons of negatives from people claiming that he ripped them off and never sent the card. After a few weeks, I got worried and emailed the guy. He said that he just came back from vacation and he just sent the card out. I was relieved at that point, but another 2-3 weeks went by and still no card. I made a claim with Paypal and they found him guilty. He was ordered to refund my $$$. The message with the Paypal refund was real crass. he called me a few names, etc..
Now today, as I was scrolling through the David Garrard rookies on Ebay, I came across another David Garrard Playoff Rookie Stallions Auto. When I opened the page, SURPRISE!!! There was the same seller, just 2 months later, selling the very card that I won back in November, with the exact same serial number, 68/100.
Boy, isn't that strange? All the commotion he started after I accused him of lying seems so senseless right now. He did in fact hold onto the card, like all of the others he has probably screwed in the past, but just made the simple mistake of relisting it on Ebay only a couple of months later. Boy, is he dumb or what? Especially since the card is serial numbered!!!!
The Ebay item number for his current auction is 2786529145.
He has the same exact pic from the original auction and all. This is just the type of guy that Ebay allows to lurk on Ebay, continually ripping people off, as long as they pay their Ebay fees. I am going to get on the live chat in a bit and demand answers.
The worst part about this is that this jerkovv gave me a retaliatory negative after I left him negative feedback. I want that feedback removed and I'll be damned if I am paying the $20 SquareTrade fee to have it removed. What's right is right. After Ebay sees the proof, they better remove it and suspend this jagbag.
If I was good with computers, I would have set up direct links to these items, but since I am not, you have to type in the numbers I provided instead if you are interested. Block this jerk on your Ebay lists.
Thanks for listening!

7 MVP awards, the single season HR record, career walks record, single season walks record, 700HR/500SB, and two batting titles near 40 years old. How can one argue that those aren't stats of the greatest to ever play the game??? All this and there is still more to come!!!! Bonds:2005 NL MVP. Or are you going to doubt him again?

The second time
edited to say: "You beat me to it."
My card may have not been that much, but if you read his feedbacks, you will learn that he burned some other with higher end cards. I'd question my mailman if that many pkgs got "lost in the mail".
Thanks again!
TheRoach
the troubling part is not that so many packages got "lost in the mail"
the troubling part is that the mailman then found and returned them - and the seller forgot to tell you!!!

Interested in this card but appears that you sold this same serial
numbered card before - is this an error and if same card, you imply that
buyer got the card and is trying to rip you off - which is it? Don't you
think you should retract his neg? I don't want to bid/win something and
have a possible neg. - new to eBay and know how important it is to keep
negs to a minimum - what do you think?
I think this stinks! I wonder what kind of response I will get back? Hope he doesn't have a gun or something
Mike
This auction was listed in error. The auction is for the Boo Williams pictured. I must have carried the wrong template from TurboLister when listing.
THANKS!
Jeff Strauss
Oops I did again, I played with....
Keep us posted - by the way, if the Garrard was in error, how come it is still listed?

if ya notice, the rickey card I won isnt even pictured in the auction.. he shows 3 cards from the same set, but none of em are rickey henderson.. i just bid on it and hope for the best..
This is my one and only post to this board. I will not reply. I
1. A quick thank you to ebay ID baseballkid30 for alerting me to this thread.
2. The referenced auction is for a 2002 Honors Signature BOO WILLIAMS Auto (pictured). My auction software pulled the wrong description for the picture. Real simple.
3. I have been attempting to change the auction all day. Since I received a bid (I cancelled the bid), Ebay won't let me revise the listing automatically. I have submitted an email request to my Powerseller representative.
4. The Gerrard Auto was shipped to the appropriately named "roach". He claims no package. I did not receive the item as returned mail. Check my feedback and recent auctions, I sell thousands of cards to very satisfied customer. Ask yourself, why would I want to rip off someover a $3 card, knowing that a post like this could cost me $100s or $1000s of business. You guys just jump on board like a good ole game of "pile-on". "The guys gotta be a thief!"
5. Hey roach - what higher end cards have negative feedback? Is $10 a high end card? You need to let it go man.
6. Davino - your a tough guy - let's threaten some guy over a $3 card! Please don't make threats that you could not back up.
7. Pandrews - thanks for your business. I apologize about the photo - the card is in stock.
Have an enjoyable evening reflecting on your posts.
I bought the card on Nov.8th or so and this guy conveniently waited until just after I left him a negative to post my feedback. I don't know about you guys, but I leave feedback as soon as the person pays me or maybe a day or two later depending how busy I was at the time. It took me a month before I posted the negative about him, and then BAM!!! all of the sudden he has the time to leave me a negative.
Jeff Strauss - Your scum and the 30-40 negatives on your profile prove it. The numbers don't lie. If I would have checked your feedback before I bid on the card, I would have never bid to begin with. Are all of those people lying? They all pretty much claim the same thing, NO CARD. That's not a coincidence, it's a trend you started. The $$$ is not the issue here. 30-40 similiar negatives al claiming the same thing is.
You ask a great question. "Why would I rip off someone over a $3 card?". Wel I have one for you. "Why the fluk would I make up a stupid story like this one over a $3 card?" Let's compare feedback and let the others judge our character.
Stay off these boards and do me the favor. I will track all of the negatives and then post the values of some of the others you ripped off.

no sweat man.. i figured you had it.. they were all cards from the same set anyway
I can understand why this guy may have felt like he was "ganged up on" - but let's look at two important issues:
1. I emailed him - as a prospective buyer - he replied within MINUTES. People trying to reach him for post-auction customer services can't reach him for DAYS.
2. Being new, this is an intuitive belief: the buyer has only ONE responsibility - pay NOW - that is the ONLY thing I can see that a seller can rate them for - unless he sends obscene emails - thus as the $ comes in, the seller should provide feedback ASAP and in no way leave the appearance of holding back feedback for retaliation.
The item still appears to be up for auction and this guy seems to have a potentially bad disposition. Being in face to face customer relations with people, I am disappointed at how some people think they can behave. You know, I don't think this guy's a thief - perhaps just, at times, a poor manager of his craft with even poorer sense of customer relations.
Mike
Makes sense - are these people just trying to get another card for their buck? Either way, you have no choice but to believe them - my point would be: if you respond immediately, they can't have a beef with you - and either way, you are stuck having to give them another card or they are going to ding you - and I noticed, a person does get to respond to their negative. I see where you are coming from - ya know - unless you have thick skin - it appears that this can be a tough job. Does this seem to be more prevalent in the lower end business or does everyone have to go through this?
Mike
Thanx for the insight
Mike
Im not picking sides just saying it works both ways. Roach might of got ripped by this guy but you never know. Could be an honest mistake, i didnt look into the guys feedback though. I am positive there is bad buyers though, Not talking about the ones that dont pay! Im talking about the ones that do pay and try to pull something. Ive noticed when it happens the buyers feedback is under 50. so if there feedback is low ill email them and ask them if they recieve the item if they say yes then ill leave feedback. then if they want to neg me fine ill just block them after that.
I know how frustrated he is with the negative which is completely undeserved. I would be raging if a crook , and yes you are a crook Mr. Strauss, had the nerve to defend his misdeed.
BTW, who was the "tipster" on this board to send the jerk to a place he isn't wanted....just curious who this crook can count on as a "friend" because they would be no friend of mine.
Hang in there "Roach"....karma catches up with people real soon !
Later dude.

I don't know who he is, but I don't think it matters. I think we should want the word to spread anyway. If dealers/sellers knew we expose people on these boards, they might think twice before doing anything funny. We scared one seller away recently--NicKM got him.
Mr. Strauss seems careless when it comes to customer relations. I like his comment about how we all just pile up on someone when suspected of being dishonest, a scammer, or a jerk. The truth is, we all link to the auction and give some relevent evidence, and then we just tear loose like a bunch of hungry pirannas. "I love it when a plan comes together" Hannibal Smith.

I just don't get it. And for anyone who may have there doubts about this guy being a crook, please read his feedback before you think about taking his side. Way too many negatives. Then he makes rude remarks about the people that he ripped.
Thanks to all who understand where I am coming from. I appreciate the support.
TheRoach
I understand exactly how you feel; that's why I took the time to email him - the auction is now closed but he got the message. If we don't help each other out, then there's no reason to be communicating - what I like is the fact that we can build a relationship here - it gives me a chance to learn also - by the way, when I'm ready to start to sell on eBay, I'ld like to be able to talk to someone about setting it up - I will be willing to compensate someone for their time also. Bottom line, I have already come to the realization that there are a lot people here that will be watching your back.
