Weight needed for Eddie VII half penny.

Does anybody know the proper weight for the Edward VII half penny (S-3991)? Thanks!

Half as much as a full penny?

You got me. Krause doesn't provide weights for most base metal coins- I can't say I recall Spink doing so, either. I have some halfpennies and a cheapo analog postal scale, but that would not be accurate enough to give you the answer you want.

I have one that weighs in at 5.58 grams, but I haven't weighed any others to see if this falls within the tolerance range. The coin has uncirculated details, but a funny flat, grainy appearance to it, with no luster at all. I suspect it's counterfeit, as I can't imagine how it got that look otherwise, and I've seen other counterfeits with the same appearance, albeit in much more worn conditions.

Should be 5.7 grams

The halfpenny mass is 5.7 g. The Victorian bun series has a range of 5.5 to 5.8 g according to Coincraft.
