I understand that ICG was the first company to certify these 5000 coins as being authentic. PCGS graded most of the 2500 coins that are in collectors hands today. Many of the PCGS graded coins also carry the ICG certification tag inside of the encapsulated PCGS holder.
My question is if the ICG certification is not in the PCGS holder is the coin worth any less than one that has the certificate?
Thanks

Whoa... a couple of false assumptions here... First, the ICG tag/insert is NOT a part of the PCGS slab. Generally though, it is returned to the submitter and you'll see it being placed on the OUTSIDE casing, on the reverse of the PCGS holder.
Secondly, PCGS still has not graded the majority of the 2,500 ICG coins that have been encapsulated. (Remember too that half that 5,000 mintage has yet to be graded by anyone.*)
Personally, I've seen NO price upgrade on Goodacres that include the ICG insert and those that don't as it is assumed ALL that have been graded by PCGS hadto cross from ICG anyway.
*Admittingly, I haven't been keeping up with this Series so it is possible (altough I doubt it), sometime in the last few months, this second lot of 2,500 that had been in Goodacre's hands have subsequently been forwarded to a Grading Service.
Thanks for clarifying this.

My Goodacre Sacagawea is graded PCGS MS-68... At the time, it was one of only 111 graded at MS-68 by PCGS. Since then, the numbers have risen to 234/12...

I have plans on submitting my 2003 P&D coins to PCGS for grading shortly... Maybe they'll be back in a couple of months...
I hope that my 2003-D coins will come back in the MS-67+ range (I think that most will) and since there are only 170 currently graded at MS-67+, maybe I'll be able to make a few bucks on eBay with them... (Currently, only 202 graded at MS-66... Tough issue...)

It appears that Goodacre (through her agent, Tebo Coin Company) has started to sell the other 2500.
They're showing up on Ebay in a steady, desultory fashion, and are selling steady at about $325-$350. No big rise or dips in the prices from the outset.

These coins command a premium above an ICG slabbed Goodacre which are not graded.
We'll use our hands and hearts and if we must we'll use our heads.
OK, Mitch but that's not what my wife wanted to do with my bonus this year.
Of course there are more then 125 Sac collectors so hopefully it won't come to 40 a person. (I haven't registered my
MS Sac set)
Also if Glenna is selling her 2500, shouldn't they be in the 1-2500 number range?
