I met the owner of PGI (Pristine Grading International) at the Hollywood Park show.
[For those who were there, he had one of the tables along the aisle leading to the autograph ticket tables (the side of the aisle away from the wall)]. He was laughing with a customer about how people seem to like to send him cards, because they get lots of 10s. He was also selling cards that he graded himself (all 10s except for a early years Gretzky which he had given a 9).
First party grading. Gotta love it.
