counterfeit $5 indian

I bought this sight unseen the other day as a real $5 indian but it is counterfeit and a pretty good one at that. It is real gold and as usual I suspect it to be from the middle east. I will only sell this to forum members I know or members in long standing here because I don't want this to fall into the hands of someone that might pass it off as real. $200 buy's it. mike

For those of us less educated, what are the signs that tell you it is counter feit?

The surfaces and the odd luster. And with a loupe you can see the little die crack like lines caused by the spark erosion used in making the dies. Also tooling marks and lumps in the field appear under a loupe. The reading also looks to be added after the coin was made. mike
