Will the weak dollar drive US coins out of this country?

MrEurekaMrEureka Posts: 24,067 ✭✭✭✭✭
Sure, the market for US coins is primarily in this country, but there are many US coins that actually sell pretty well overseas: Common date Morgans and gold, classic silver commems in lower grades, early type, low end proof type, modern silver and gold commems, and much more. Will foreigners start buying up these coins with their strong currencies? I think so. Has it already started? Maybe.

Andy: Yes, and it's already started. With the sharp drop in the dollar, U.S Type Gold is still very cheap in foreign currencies although its price has increased about 40% in inflated U.S. Dollars during the past year.

Rare (non-bullion) coins are also relatively cheap in foreign currencies now....

A great time for euro currency folks to buy real estate here; even with the "bubble". K
