Difference between type 1 or 2 Jefferson?

Have an 81 proof, but since I'm not really into modern dates I've no idea how to tell the difference.

These are easiest to spot if you have both examples or a picture. The type I is the older
style mint mark and is often "filled". The type II is a newer type which is often clear. Un-
fortunately they can't be told apart consistently except by recognizing the different styles.
The type I has the upper serif close to the curve of the "S" while the type II this serif is
away from the curve. There are other little differences too.

The type I and II mint marks can be found on all 6 of the proof issues of 1981.
