...because you just couldn't stick to a specialty? Did you end up spending, and possibly wasting, a lot of money on secondary collecting areas? Did getting back to your main area of collecting revive your interest in collecting?

I rotate sectors of interest amongst Morgan Dollars, Type Coins, World Crowns, Gold, Bust Coins, Seated Liberty, etc. I can always find a specific area of collecting to catch my interest. Some of this is commercially driven (not to make profit) to take advantage of what I perceive to be good buying opportunities in depressed price sectors, where I feel that prices are temporarily low.

<< <i>What's interesting to me about Coin Collecting is that over the past 38 years I have gone through phases where I focus on different aspects of the hobby.
Ditto.
i have several areas where i collect seriously for the long haul, some where i collect purely for fun and still others that i search only raw for slabbing and reselling to finance the other two!! the hobby is to broad for it to ever be boring for me.
