Going to an auction tonight !!!

the sale is advertised as "Large private Coin Collection", looks to me more like a "Large private Hoard".
I would any one "collecting" would have taken better care of the coins. I'll be checking out these coins in about 5hrs. I'm hoping the things I've learned from you guys will help me out when I check'em out...any last words of advise ???

Don't get over excited about any coins and remember they usually look better at auction than they do when you get them home and get a real good look at them. Don't spend too much on series you don't know about- I am very guilty of this and I end up over paying alot. I alway's like to sit in the back so I can see who's bidding against me. Let us know how you did. mike image

Oh yeah- not a bad idea to show up earlier than the listed preview time so you can see who's working with the auction to keep the bids up.
  • I tend to get caught up in the bidding..for me it's a big adrenalin high...an expensive high, but all natural. image

Please remember what Mike "Darktone" told you.

Its always a good idea to go very early to an auction of this type to see who is associated with the sale, in case you see that they are no more than shills, boosting the prices up.

Bring a grey sheet with you on Morgans, ( based on the picture, its mostly Morgan Dollars being offered).

    Good luck.
