Cool coin. Are those hairlines or on the holder or both? What is the grade and who graded it, etc? Give us the scoop?

Boatloads of eye appeal, but it looks like it was pretty harshly cleaned at some point in the past. I'm surprised it got holdered.

This coin is in an ancient NGC slab graded AU-53. The coin does have a few hairlines, but so does the holder. I finally figured out how to post to my webspace, so I wanted to try it out here. It's one of my favorite coins.

I am surprised it graded AU53. Looks better than that, maybe MS62? Maybe the hairlines kept it in the AU53 holder? Still a very eye appealing coin.

The coin has just a bit of wear - maybe the hairlines held it back a bit. They look much worse in that large picture. Either way, It's one I intend to hold for awhile...

Nice looking coin. I don't think the hairlines show up on the coin, in hand, like they do in the scan. With that said, I really like the coin. A couple of cuds at the lower rim, and some prominent die clashing in the left obv. field give this coin a ton of appeal. To me anyways.
