How can I change the avatar to link to something custome that I've created?

You have to wait until the 15th of the month. One of the site moderators will turn on the icon feature. On the 15th go into your profile page and there will be a button to upload an icon. Once you do that you simply chose the icon you uploaded. The pic has a maximum size requirement but I can't remember at this late hour. I'm sure someone else can put that info forward.
